Software Engineer — Open Source Contributions
Role Type: Contractor
Location: Remote
micro1 is seeking experienced Software Engineers to contribute to open-source development projects supporting AI training. You'll work on real-world codebases involving feature development, debugging, refactoring, and performance optimization. No prior AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement features in existing open-source projects.
Fix complex bugs and improve code reliability.
Refactor legacy code for better performance, scalability, and readability.
Apply algorithms and efficient problem-solving techniques.
Review and validate code against project standards.
Collaborate with remote contributors and document technical solutions.
Provide clear technical explanations of implementations.

Compensation
Output-based: Payment is provided per completed task that meets project requirements. Minimum weekly submission requirements apply.
Start Timeline
Roles are typically filled within 48 hours . Selected candidates should be ready to begin within 24–48 hours after onboarding .
